Bio of Liz Wainger

Liz Wainger brings more than 20 years of experience in public relations, marketing communications and journalism. Prior to founding Liz Wainger Communications, she was Director of Communications for the Morino Institute/Morino Group in Reston, VA where she was responsible for positioning and branding a variety of entrepreneurial ventures including the initial rollout of Venture Philanthropy Partners. Wainger also held senior communications positions at The National Trust for Historic Preservation and the American Institute of Architects, where she directed national media and advertising campaigns. She was a reporter at The Washington Post. Early in her career, Wainger worked at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Wainger has received many awards for her work including a Clarion Award from Women in Communications and a Thoth Award from the National Capital Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. Wainger serves on the Board of Child Trends, a nonpartisan research organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and their families.

She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Arts in Russian and spent a semester at Leningrad State University, now St. Petersburg University, in Russia.
